Dr. Jeff Iorg

President Golden Gate Seminary

Dr. Jeff Iorg serves as the seventh president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, assuming that role in August 2004.  Prior to this assignment, he was a pastor, church planter, and denominational leader.

 

Dr. Iorg served as the Executive Director of the Northwest Baptist Convention from 1995-2004.  Prior to that he was the founding pastor of Greater Gresham Baptist Church, now one of the largest Southern Baptist Churches in Oregon.  He has also served as a pastor in Missouri and staff pastor in Texas.  Since 1990, he has taught leadership, preaching, and evangelism courses for Golden Gate Seminary.

 

Dr. Iorg is the author of The Character of Leadership that describes the process of spiritual formation in the life of a leader.  His next book, Is God Calling Me?, will be released in early 2008.  He is also a frequent curriculum writer and contributor to various publications.

 

Dr. Iorg has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hardin Simmons University, a master of divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctor of ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

 

Dr. Iorg and his wife, Ann, have three adult children—Casey, Melody and Caleb.  His hobbies include traveling, reading, and umpiring baseball.  His personal ministry includes outreach to the baseball community in the Bay Area.
