Rev. Dr. Randy Adams

Randy Adams has been Executive Director-Treasurer of the Northwest Baptist Convention since May 2013.  Randy is from Idaho and grew up in Montana.  His ministry includes leading the missions and evangelism team for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma from 2004-2013.  He served three churches as senior pastor for a total of 19 years and has been the interim pastor of nine churches in the past 10 years.  Randy’s preaching ministry has been extensive, including preaching at International Mission Board conferences in Singapore, India, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Malawi, and Hong Kong.  

Randy has a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech (1983), and an MDIV and Ph.D. (1986 and 1993) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas.  From 2002-2012, he served on the board of trustees for Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.  He served as Board Chairman 2009-2011 and is an adjunct professor teaching courses on preaching and leadership.

His published works include numerous articles on leadership, missions, evangelism, and preaching, including “Preaching from 1 & 2 Thessalonians” published in the Southwestern Journal of Theology.  He also authored a workbook for new believers titled “Following Jesus From the Beginning,” part of MY316 evangelism materials which were developed under his leadership.

Randy and his wife, Paula, have two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rett and Jessica, both accountants in Oklahoma City; and Luke, who is a student at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
